Knock, Knock, Knock.....

One piece of advise, one should never ignore, when opportunity knocks- ANSWER THE DOOR!!!

You may recall from my previous post, that I was searching for vendor space to set up Just Off Pine as a shop within a shop. As of last week, I joined a wonderful gathering of vendors and set up at Hidden Memories in Worcester New York. I have a beautiful modern farmhouse style display set up at the front entrance. Hidden Memories truly is "The Everything Shop"! You can find a whole host of treasures, one of a kind pieces, and original art work. Hidden Memories is a gathering of very talented people, experienced in offering highly curated vintage items as well as original pieces of pottery, jewelry and paintings. The setting for Hidden Memories couldn't be more perfect- Michael has set up shop in the old Grange building on Main Street. It is the perfect compliment to Barry and the existing Worcester Indoor Flea Market, the original treasure trove on Main Street, with two floors to explore, it is well worth a visit.

Hidden Memories is located at 143 Main Street and you can find The Worcester Indoor Flea Market at 152 Main Street, Worcester, New York 12197. Come by, explore - the inventory is constantly changing, and you just may find that treasures you have been searching for.

Are you now wondering about the advise at the beginning of the post? Well, Opportunity came a knocking and you bet I answered the door- A tiny, boutique sized store front was available on Main Street, adjacent to Hidden Memories. So tiny in fact, the address is 143B Main Street. It was just the right size for me to open a special little boutique that features the Just Off Pine small decor and accent furnishings, vintage glassware, ironstone and whiteware. I am also able to feature my upcycled chalkboards, mirrors and original handicrafts made in the Just Off Pine Workshop. However, as to the boutique nature of the shop, I am delighted to be able to offer On Trend Ladies' Accessories, such as faux furs, purses, hats, jewelry and boots. I will be offering "gently loved" as well as new accessories.

I would like to express my heartfelt thanks to the intrepid Volunteer #1 and Volunteer #2. I signed a lease, received the key and opened for business in 24 hours! We made our first sale before everything in the shop was displayed and tagged. The help I receive from my Husband and my Mother are invaluable. I posed the question "Can we set up and open in 24 hours?" They collectively rolled their eyes but realized this was an opportunity that would not come knocking again. And so, together we loaded up the trailer, truck, and two cars, grabbed some extra pots of paints in case anything was scratched or chipped as result of our haste and made our way to 143B Main Street in Worcester, New York to set up the Just Off Pine Shop.
